Village of Hope America, Inc. (VOHA) was created to service people from all walks of life. We aim to change the world one life at a time.

 

VOHA provides residential care for individuals with developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and adults who have aged out of the foster care system. We are a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. VOHA is dedicated to helping those with developmental disabilities live their life to the fullest. We simultaneously hope to create a family atmosphere (village) that encourages participation of the residents' families on a daily basis and overall creates a better tomorrow. We also strive to offer services that promote self-respect, independence, and improve the quality of life for our residents and their families.

Donations go directly towards operational support of the organization and our various programs.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide support to enhance the safety and quality of life for children, youth who have aged out of foster care, substance abuse, and adults with developmental delays and disabilities and mental health. We provide spiritual, emotional, financial, and physical support through housing. A safe, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained living quarters will be provided. We provide supportive services through our group homes, stabilization unit, housing, and case management programs. Day treatment programs and life skills 101 classes are offered.

We provide support and resources to low-income families. We provide rehabilitation to children, young adults, adults, and geriatric adults. We provide support to rehabilitate individuals. We provide caring, skillful, and dependable staff that provides support and assistance that respects the person's dignity, rights, and wishes. Ongoing assessments of needs and services will be provided to ensure the satisfaction, development, and success towards achieving the individual's goals.

Shannon Saunders

Chief Executive Officer
Shannon Saunders enjoys empowering and nurturing those who need it back to good health. After graduating from Sussex Central High School she went on to complete her degree as a licensed practical nurse from Delaware Tech Community College in 2007. Shannon has worked in various facilities as a nurse over the past 17 years. Her passion is to help to provide treatment to the elderly, the developmentally delayed, and those with disabilities.

Chief Financial Officer
Timothy Showell is an experienced accountant and non profit professional. His accounting and non profit organization experience combined is close to a total of 20 years of experience. As a Chief Financial Officer his goal is to protect VOHA's financial assets and ensure every dollar is allocated efficiently.

Stephanie Showell has over 39 years of professional experience as a direct care provider and over 15 years of management experience. Her unique background allows her to connect with both management and direct service professionals.

Dr. Darion Showell

Director of Development
Dr. Darion Showell, DO, MT, obtained his Bachelor's and medical degree from Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). He then completed his residency at Greenville Health System, and his fellowship in Oncology and Hematology at the Medical University of South Carolina. In his current position as the Director of Development, Darion exhibits extensive experience collectively from his lengthy experience with all corporate levels and workforce development. Darion is a risk taker that is eager to use his knowledge and experience to support and build morale in the disability community.
